I had switched to "use system settings" which screw it up. I now put in a 'custom' resolution. Try what works for you. I'm on a Mac Pro , using a 27" monitor. Our entire office has this problem with Acrobat on MacOS. Scrolling through more complex drawings e.
Even migrating to a brand new, powerful iMac hasn't resolved the issue, yet my 8-year-old PC laptop doesn't have this issue. None of the solutions below have worked for us, and we're getting tired of reading everything in Mac Preview. It's been years Adobe—time to fix this. Adobe Support Community.

Sometimes worse and sometimes not so bad. I've cursed the file explorer and tried all the fixes I've found online. Today opening a folder with 40 pdf files took 10 minutes and I was ready to throw my laptop from the window But instead I found this thread and now I'm hopeful.
I am using the free Adobe Reader and it wasn't huge. But I still uninstalled it and reinstalled it. At the moment it is looking good. The folder with 40 pdf files opened in a second and when I transferred a few files to another folder it happened instantly tranferring a 1MB pdf file sometimes took minutes. Thank you so much for mentioning this. Maybe my situation will help narrow things down, too.
We use Dropbox exclusively, and of course Adobe for the design software. I have a solid state harddrive, running Office , and am pretty tech savvy. But this is getting worse by the day. And the previewer pane never comes up. I am responsible for a massive library of products, and having to open every single pdf to make sure I have the right one is the absolute pits. I've asked this question in the Adobe forum, and while several people have responded, no one seems to have a fix.
So I am going to try uninstall and restall of adobe acrobat and see if I get any improvements! Fingers crossed! Similar issue here.
File Explorer starts taking tens of seconds for simple operations like moving or renaming PDFs regardless of size. I get the same graph showing calculating with no prgress for several seconds, until after the unacceptable delay, it starts ans completes in the time you would normally expect the action to complete.
Change the following settings in Acrobat or Reader. Changing registry values is not officially supported by Adobe and you do so at your own risk. You should only be changing the registry settings if you have the correct privileges and experience in this area.
System Administrators should change these settings first using the Preferences dialog in Adobe Reader not using the registry and re-test the performance through Citrix. When the printer finally starts to print, it seems to pause for a few seconds before printing the next page. If I print from any other application such as Word, notepad, etc, it will print instantly. It doesn't help if I close the program after each file is printed, or leave it open and just closing the file.
Anybody else experiencing this who knows what's happening?
